Fernand Schoppig

President

Before establishing FS Associates in 1988, Mr. Schoppig ran the Private Banking and Asset Management Department of Bank Leu's New York Branch, where he was responsible for establishing global investment policy and the development of unique "niche" products in international financial planning, geared towards foreign and domestic high net worth individuals.

Prior to joining Bank Leu, Mr. Schoppig was a co-founder and an Associate Director of SBC Portfolio Management International, New York, an affiliate of UBS's predecessor Swiss Bank Corporation, specializing in global asset management for institutional clients. He was also the firm's compliance officer, directly responsible for all legal administrative and strategic planning matters. In Switzerland, Mr. Schoppig was a global investment strategist with the Swiss Bank Corporation and other leading banks.

Fernand Schoppig was born in Basel, Switzerland where he studied banking and investment management. He was awarded the Swiss Federal Banking Diploma, the highest educational degree in Swiss banking. Mr. Schoppig is also a Certified Financial Planner, a Certified Investment Management Analyst and a Certified Investment Management Consultant.

Bernardo P. Brunschwiler

Advisor

Mr. Bernardo Brunschwiler, born 1956, owns Bernardo Brunschwiler Consulting. Bernardo has over 30 years of experience in global wealth management in senior positions for leading firms like UBS and Credit Suisse - Clariden Leu. Mr. Brunschwiler’s experience has provided him with a broad and deep knowledge of every aspect of wealth management focused on Latin America. He possesses an intimate knowledge of the business, local environment and culture in that particular geographical area. He has a deep understanding of the challenges being faced by individual investors, family offices and institutions. His broad expertise ranges from active involvement in marketing and business development aspects as well as strategic endeavors. Over the years he has built an extensive personal business network of service providers, intermediaries and industry experts.

In his career Bernardo has managed professionals, offices and subsidiaries covering International Private Clients and High Net-worth Individuals in up to 20 locations in the Americas, Switzerland, Germany and the U.K. Bernardo is fluent in five languages. He graduated with an MBA from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland (lic.oec.HSG).

Dr. Andre P. Jaeggi

Executive Consultant

Andre Jaeggi has spent the major part of his career in senior executive positions at leading financial institutions. Before establishing his own asset management advisory firm in Switzerland in 2009, Ji Portfolio Services Ltd., he was Managing Director of Adveq, a leading private equity fund of funds management company that he helped develop from a two partners entity into a group with more than US$ 8 billion under management from institutional investors worldwide with 100 employees and offices in Europe, North America and Asia. Andre stepped down from the Board of Directors when Adveq was sold to Schroders in July 2017.

Prior to joining Adveq Andre was Executive Director at Prevista, a leading Swiss investment foundation for pension funds providing pooled investments in all traditional asset classes, as well as real estate, and private equity. Earlier in his career, Andre was a financial journalist for the Swiss economic paper "Finanz und Wirtschaft" for whom he was resident editor in New York in the late Eighties and deputy to the editor in chief in the early Nineties. Andre holds a PhD (Dr. Phil.) from the University of Zurich and studied in Zurich, Switzerland, and England at the University of Essex. He is fluent in English, German, and French (mother tongue) and masters Italian.

Barry M. Gillman

Executive Consultant

Mr. Gillman is the Principal of Longevity Financial Consulting LLC, specializing in working with money managers, pension funds, and financial intermediaries. The firm’s focus is providing strategic, marketing and product development advice regarding the impact of increasing longevity in the market for retirement products and services. He also serves as the Research Director of the Brandes Institute Advisory Board, affiliated with Brandes Investment Partners L.P., an independent investment advisory firm in San Diego, CA. He served as that firm’s Director of Portfolio Strategies for ten years from 2002.

Before joining Brandes, Barry headed Farris, Gillman & Associates, a consulting firm specializing in global investment management and distribution. Prior to 1996, Barry had spent over twenty years in the global asset management business in the U.S. and the U.K. He has had both CEO and CIO responsibilities, including twelve years as chief executive of Prudential Capital Management International. He has experience in portfolio management, marketing and business management and has worked with U.S. pension clients for over 30 years. Barry is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and a mathematics graduate of Cambridge University (B.A. and M.A.).
